U Street Music Hall is one of the most iconic venues in the DC area. Founded in 2010, it began as a dance club and quickly developed into a premier live music venue. It is renowned for its amazing sound systems and unbeatable energy. It is a staple of the Washington, DC music scene, featuring two levels of entertainment for live music lovers to enjoy. From small, intimate shows to headline performances by well-known acts, the venue hosts DJs spinning vinyl on the weekends and events like their annual Dance Masala party.
U Street Music Hall was a dance club and live music venue founded in 2010 and located in the U Street Corridor of Washington, DC. Artists and DJs booked at U Street Music Hall spanned a spectrum of electronic music, including houses, discos, techno, bass, and electro. It is often referred to as "U Hall". Opened March 17, 2010, by founders Jesse Tittsworth and Will Eastman, U Street Music Hall was a DJ-owned and operated basement dance club and live music venue. Its 500-person capacity room featured a state-of-the-art Martin Audio sound system, a 1,200 square foot cork-cushioned dance floor and two bars. Of its atmosphere, a 2010 Washington Post review stated, U Street Music Hall -- U Hall to its friends -- ditches most of the trappings associated with D.C. nightclubs. No dress code. No bottle service. No party photographers. No VIP areas, or seating more complex than bar stools. Just a huge room with a DJ booth at one end, a stage at the other, and bars along the sides.
Washington DC is home to the White House, Capitol Building, monuments, memorials, and federal institutions. There are plenty of activities to explore, from city parks like Rock Creek Park or C&O Canal National Historic Park to bustling neighborhoods such as Shaw and Chinatown with lively nightlife spots, casual eateries, and boutique shopping. Attend a performance by the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts or tour landmarks like Arlington Cemetery or the historic Ford theater. Visit museums like the International Spy Museum full of fascinating exhibits or take a guided tour of Capitol Hill.
U Street Music Hall is a must-stop for any DC resident or visiting traveler looking for a unique and unforgettable experience. With its state-of-the-art sound system, no dress code, and constant booking of forward-thinking musical acts, this hall has been bringing the D.C. area together to share in its love of music since 2010. Why not look at what you have been missing by visiting U Street Music Hall today?
