Oriole Park at Camden Yards was such an innovation in stadium design that it started a new trend in North America. Its classic unadorned steel, unique views of the city and focus specifically on baseball launched the “retro classic” style, and several ballparks have since been based on its design.

Home to the MLB’s Baltimore Orioles, the park has been a huge hit with Orioles fans since opening in 1992.

The park is used almost exclusively for baseball, but a few events have bucked the trend, such as a mass given by Pope John Paul II during a visit to Baltimore. Together with the adjacent M&T Bank Stadium, it forms the Camden Yards Sports Complex.

One of the great features of Oriole Park is Eutaw Street, a pedestrian-only area behind right field, which has views of the game. The street has several shops and restaurants that draw Orioles fans on game day, when it’s accessible only for ticket holders. When games sell out, standing-room-only tickets are sold at a discounted price and allow fans to watch the game from several different areas and bars along the concourse. The park is also situated right in downtown Baltimore, and several excellent restaurants are within a quick walk of the venue.

The ballpark is just a few blocks to the west of the Inner Harbor of Baltimore off of Interstate 395. Parking is available onsite and can be purchased in advance. The park is also easily accessible via the Baltimore Light Rail and the MARC Commuter Rail at Camden Station. No tailgating is allowed at the venue. Nonalcoholic drinks are allowed in, but large bags and hard-sided containers are prohibited.
