A football stadium located in Kansas City, Missouri, Arrowhead Stadium is home to the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs. The stadium opened in 1972, just in time for the NFL season. The first preseason game held in the stadium was between the Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals, which the Chiefs won. Aside from the Chiefs’ home games, the stadium has hosted two Drum Corps International World Championships, the Border Showdown from 2007 to 2011, five Big 12 Conference football championship games, and the annual Fall Classic at Arrowhead. The stadium is known for holding the record of being the loudest stadium in the country in the Guinness Book of World Records.

Arrowhead Stadium has a total capacity of 76,416. The stadium boasts two high-definition video displays that were retrofitted into the existing football-shaped displays. It also has 1,625 feet of digital ribbon board technology, and a multimillion-dollar integrated system from Daktronics. On its lower-level concourse, you’ll find the 28,000-square-foot Chiefs Hall of Honor, which highlights great teams and players, as well as artifacts from the Chiefs’ history. If you want to learn more about the stadium, guided tours are available Fridays and Saturdays year-round. The stadium is part of Harry S. Truman Sports Complex, which has more than 19,000 parking spaces for cars, and 400 for buses. Visitors are recommended to pre-pay parking, come early and enjoy tailgating.
