The Houston Rockets are a member of the NBA’s Western Conference Southwest Division, founded in 1967 as the San Diego Rockets before its move to Texas. The Rockets had a slow start when they first debuted, winning only 15 games in the season. With draft pick Elvin Hayes, the team saw improvement, appearing in its first playoff. MVP Moses Malone led the Rockets to the conference finals in 1976, followed by the NBA Finals in 1981. They lost to the Boston Celtics then and again in the 1986 finals. It was not until 1994 that the Rockets bounced back and claimed their first championship title, doing so again the following season and becoming the lowest-seeded team in NBA history to win the title at the time. As underdogs in the NBA, seeing the Rockets play a live game is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.
