Joseph Glenn Herbert, better known by his stage name Jo Koy, is a Filipino-American stand-up comedian. Koy credits his mother's support for his comedic talents and success, as she would push him to participate in school talent shows and hold performances for family and friends. Her encouragement inspired a move to Los Angeles to launch his career, where he was discovered by a talent coordinator shortly after his move. Koy went on to make several TV appearances on shows like BET's Comic View and VH1's I love the 70's, 80's and 90's, and landed a regular spot as a guest at Chelsea Handler's roundtable discussion on her E! show. He has performed twice at the Montreal comedy festival Just For Laughs, where he was awarded Canada's prestigious Gemini Award. Koy has done two highly-rated specials on Comedy Central and released a third comedy special for Netflix in 2017. It was recently announced that he has been approved to do another Netflix special, rumored to be released soon.
