Stockyards Championship Rodeo

Step into a real Texas rodeo in the heart of the Fort Worth Stockyards. The Stockyards Championship Rodeo rides inside historic Cowtown Coliseum, home to the world’s first indoor rodeo and the only rodeo that runs every week of the year. Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 p.m., you are close to the dust, the chutes, and the sound of the buzzer. Grab your Stockyards Championship Rodeo tickets at Event Tickets Center.

The World's Only Year-Round Rodeo Schedule

Here, the calendar is simple and steady: the Stockyards Championship Rodeo runs every Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Cowtown Coliseum. Doors typically open around 6 p.m., and performances last between 90 minutes and two hours, depending on the number of entries. It is the definition of dependable weekend rodeo.

The wider Stockyards Championship Rodeo schedule often anchors a full western-sports weekend. Look for PBR Stockyards Showcase bull riding on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., and Ultimate Bullfighters select Sundays in the afternoon. Outside the arena, the twice-daily Fort Worth Herd cattle drive rolls down Exchange Avenue at 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., making it easy to plan a full Stockyards day.

Stockyards Championship Rodeo Events Info

This is a working cowboy competition, not a stunt show. You will see bull riding, bareback and saddle bronc, plus timed events like barrel racing, tie-down roping, team roping, and breakaway roping. Families can watch for kid-friendly moments such as calf or mutton scrambles, which are offered at many performances. It is a compact arena, so every seat is a good spot to see the rides, the turns, and the clock.

Cowtown Coliseum: Where the West is Still Wild

Built in 1908, Cowtown Coliseum is a Texas landmark. In 1918, it hosted the world’s first indoor rodeo and later became the site of the first live radio broadcast of a rodeo in 1932. The building’s Mission Revival bones and steel-truss roof eliminate interior columns, which helps keep sightlines clear. Today, it hosts rodeos, PBR events, and special shows year-round in the Stockyards National Historic District. Check the Cowtown Coliseum upcoming events to round out your weekend.
