Named after the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, the Chicago Fire Soccer Club announced they would be joining the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer on the 126th anniversary of the event. In their first season in 1998, The Fire won their first MLS Cup and the U.S. Open Cup. It soon became clear that these feats were more than just beginner’s luck, as the team went on to win three more U.S. Open Cups in 2000, 2003 and 2006. They also won the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2003. After finishing last in the Eastern Conference in both 2015 and 2016, the Fire bounced back with a third-place finish in the Supports’ Shield rankings of 2017. The team carries the fourth-highest regular season total in club history at 55 points. They also broke the record for the most matches won during a season at their home field SeatGeek Stadium. Come out and support the Men in Red as they continue their comeback as a top-ranking team in the league. View the complete Chicago Fire 2021 schedule to buy tickets.
