Colorado Avalanche

The Colorado Avalanche compete in the Northwest Division of the National Hockey League. Although the Colorado Avalanche have only been around since 1995, the franchise itself was established in 1972. Up until 1995 this team was known as the Quebec Nordiques. But when it comes down to it, this franchise has always been quite competitive no matter what city they are in.

The Avalanche play their home games at the Pepsi Center located in Denver, Colorado. Since opening in 1999, the Avalanche has had great fan support at this venue. Fans love the modern look and feel, and of course, the great views of the ice.

Many great players have competed for the Avalanche. Some of the best include: Patrick Roy, Joe Sakic, and Andrew Brunette among many others.

When it comes down to it, there are not too many teams that have been more successful than the Avalanche over the past 10 or so years. They have repeatedly won their division, and are always competing for the Stanley Cup. It does not get much better than that for both the team and the fans.
