U2 is an Irish rock band from Dublin, consisting of Bono as lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, the Edge as lead guitarist keyboardist and backing vocalist, Adam Clayton as bassist, and Larry Mullen Jr. as drummer and percussionist. The band, initially rooted in post-punk and formed in 1976, found an anthemic sound with Bono’s expressive vocals and the Edge’s effects-based guitar textures. Their tours are often ambitious and elaborate, and they have won 22 Grammy Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. They will be on their eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE Tour in 2018.
