He has been a regular on the New York City contemporary, experimental jazz scene throughout his successful career with bands the Jazz Farmers, Benevento Russo Duo, and his group since 2006. Benevento is known for his expansive, psychedelic sound, drawing on inspiration from a wide variety of influences. He has released several genre-ranging albums, including Me Not Me (2009), TigerFace (2012), and most recently, Let It Slide (2019).
