Wizard of Oz at the Sphere: Tickets, Duration & More
The Wizard of Oz at the Sphere is an immersive experience that uses the Sphere’s wraparound interior display and 4D effects to make Oz feel close enough to touch. This guide covers tickets, seating, runtime, and some Vegas logistics so you can plan for the show with confidence. When you’re ready to lock it in, find your seats with Event Tickets Center and make this a can’t-miss Vegas moment.
Planning Your Showtime & Seating
The Wizard of Oz at the Sphere Schedule
The Wizard of Oz Sphere tickets are available nearly every day, multiple times a day, and are scheduled out well into the foreseeable future. The show often runs at 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM on weekdays, with additional showtimes at 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM on weekends.
These showtimes vary widely on a day-to-day basis; sometimes more or fewer shows than these will be available. For families, earlier showtimes often feel smoother, with less late-night fatigue and a more predictable ride back to the hotel.
Shop tickets early for the date and showtime that fits your trip to ensure you can land your dream seats. Weekends and peak travel nights can tighten the best section choices, so shopping earlier offers options and peace of mind.
The Sphere Seating Chart
The Sphere’s screen wraps up and over the audience, making seating a bigger question than in a normal theater. The best seats for the Wizard of Oz at the Sphere vary depending on your preferences.
Since most of the action occurs lower on the screen, choosing closer seats gets you closer to the main event. However, you may have to crane your neck to see what’s happening above you. Higher up seats offer the chance to take in the broad view that sets the Sphere apart from other theaters, but Dorothy and Todo may be a bit farther away.
For the sweet-spot balance, aim for a mid-level, centered view that keeps you immersed without feeling like you’re craning your neck to see the whole thing. If you want everything perfectly aligned, prioritize centrally located seats, even though you may have to pay a little more. Anyone sensitive to heights or steep stairs should avoid the highest levels and look for aisle-adjacent seating to settle in without the vertigo factor.

Before the Show: Arrival & Exploring The Atrium
Getting to The Sphere
Transportation planning can be the difference between walking into the show relaxed or running in stressed. The simplest options for out-of-towners to get around Vegas are rideshare and taxis. Add buffer time if you are looking for rides during prime traffic windows, like dinner and showtime. If you are stacking the Sphere with other big Vegas events, ensure you’ll have time to get to and from the venue for the show.
When to Arrive for Wizard of Oz at the Sphere
Plan to arrive at the Sphere early to get through security and explore before the show. While doors open 45 minutes before showtime, guests begin lining up earlier than this. Plan to arrive 60-90 minutes before showtime to avoid being stuck in the back of the line.
As you’re arriving at the Sphere, you may notice the 50-foot striped legs and ruby red slippers sticking out of the bottom of the venue. These aren’t always on display, so if you’re lucky enough to catch them, snap a picture before heading inside.
Pre-Show Atrium Experience
Once you’re through security, you’ll arrive in the Atrium. Much more than just an entryway, the Atrium is half the size of the venue itself. The Atrium normally features AI-driven humanoid robot greeters, called Aura; however, these aren’t on display for The Wizard of Oz experience.
For The Wizard of Oz, sepia-toned Kansas-themed visual displays set the tone, and full-sized set replicas, including Professor Marvel’s caravan, build pre-show anticipation. There are also merch stands on each level, themed food and drinks, and immersive photo booths that put you inside the tornado, just like Dorothy.
While you’ll want to take your time in the Atrium, don’t dawdle too long before heading to your seat, as late entry to the show is not permitted.

A 4-D Experience Like No Other
This is where the venue earns the ticket. The Sphere’s official show description highlights a 160,000-square-foot interior display plane, immersive sound with a re-recorded score, and 4D elements, such as high-velocity wind arrays, atmospheric fog, fire bursts, and haptic seats that deliver infrasound. The result is that iconic scenes happen around you instead of in front of you, like in a regular screen.
Foam apples are typically dropped during the apple tree scene, with lower-level seats reportedly having the best chance of catching one to take home as a souvenir.
This short clip shows just how immersive the twister scene feels with the simulated wind and debris flying around.
How Long is the Wizard of Oz at the Sphere?
The current runtime is about 75 minutes, which is 27 minutes shorter than the classic movie. While the show is slightly abbreviated, nothing is missed, as edited parts were generally single lines or parts of songs rather than full scenes or dialogues. The shorter runtime is part of what makes this experience easier to build into a packed Vegas adventure.
The Post-Show Experience
Don’t leave immediately after the show if you want to get the full Sphere experience. As the credits roll, head down to the Atrium to find it transformed into the Emerald City, complete with a replica hot air balloon and a giant flying monkey. Go to the stage in the Atrium to see a short post-show live experience with real actors, and you’ll be able to grab a photo with the actors if you’re close to the front.
The Atrium stays open for just 30 minutes after the show, so whether you want to prioritize photo ops, grab merch, or watch the live show, you’ll want to be efficient with your time in the venue.
