The Monsters Tickets
The Monsters formed in Bern, Switzerland, in 1986 and built a following on primitive garage punk, trash rockabilly, and a rock and roll sound that has stayed intentionally unpolished since the band's earliest shows. Frontman Reverend Beat-Man handles guitar and vocals over the band's signature clonedrum setup, two drummers striking opposite sides of the same bass drum, and he has steered a touring history that reached Europe, Japan, and South America. The band's reputation for raw, chaotic live shows has outlasted most of its peers in the genre. Find tickets for The Monsters at Event Tickets Center.
The Monsters Tour Dates
The band's current US run includes a stop at Local 506 in Chapel Hill, part of a route that also swings through Quarry House Tavern in Silver Spring, Maryland. Both stops keep with the band's longstanding habit of playing smaller clubs rather than bigger rooms, a pattern that held true even during a three-week tour of Japan and stops in Argentina and Brazil earlier in the band's history.
The Monsters Setlist and Concert Info
Recent sets pull from the band's catalog, with cuts drawn from Youth Against Nature, Garage Punk Vol. 1, and Pop Up Yours played at the same intensity that has defined the group since 1986. Live, the two drummers pounding opposite sides of one bass drum give every song an unusually heavy, lurching backbeat that studio recordings only partly capture. Shows tend to run short and loud, closer to a vintage punk gig than a modern, polished production.

Since 1986, The Monsters have kept playing with the same primitive urgency that built their reputation, and that consistency is rare in a genre known for one-off acts. This is a chance to see a genuine piece of live music history up close, in a room small enough to feel every note of that raw, primitive sound. Few acts from the 1980s Swiss underground scene are still touring with this lineup and this sound. Get tickets to The Monsters at Event Tickets Center.
