Indie-pop duo She & Him formed in 2006 after members Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward met on the set of the film The Go-Getter, in which Deschanel had a starring role. Introduced by the film’s director, the two recorded a duet for the end credits and bonded over a shared passion for music and similar taste in artists. They regrouped sometime later in Portland where they began to write and record their debut album, Volume One. The album was met with critical praise and put Deschanel on the map as a talented singer/songwriter whose skills extending far beyond the silver screen. They have since released five additional full-length albums, including two successful Christmas records and 2014’s Classics which featured the duo covering classic standards by artist like Frank Sinatra, Elvis Costello, and Aretha Franklin. She & Him was nominated for their first Grammy Award in 2012 for their song “So Long” written for the film Winnie the Pooh.
