MerleFest is an annual "traditional plus" music festival held in Wilkesboro, NC at Wilkes Community College. The festival is held the last weekend in April, was hosted by Grammy Award winner Doc Watson before his death, and is named in memory and honor of his son, Eddy Merle Watson.

MerleFest was founded in 1988. The fest spans a total of four days and features 13 different stages, providing festival goers with a wide variety of music venues, groups, and styles to choose from, including a mix of traditional and contemporary roots music which Doc himself named "traditional plus."
