Founded in late 1995 by Music Director Andrew Kurtz, the Gulf Coast Symphony has grown into the premier community orchestra of Southwest Florida and the second-largest nonprofit performing arts organization in Lee County. The Fort Myers ensemble stages more than 186 performances a year, spanning classical music, jazz, film scores, and musical theater. Genre-crossing programming is the point here rather than the exception. Find Gulf Coast Symphony tickets at Event Tickets Center.

Gulf Coast Symphony Tour Dates

The orchestra calls the Music and Arts Community Center home, where a 300-seat theater carries most of the calendar. Fifteen concerts a year move to the larger Barbara B Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers, Florida, and both currently listed dates fall there: Press Play, a gamer-themed Halloween family concert on October 18, 2026, with a costume contest and lobby activities opening an hour before the music, and Deck The Halls on December 5, 2026.

Gulf Coast Symphony Setlist and Concert Info

As a community orchestra with wide-ranging tastes, the Gulf Coast Symphony builds each program around a theme rather than a fixed set list. The 2026-27 season runs across six series, from Symphony Pops in the big hall to Masterworks, Jazz, MACC Presents, and the Inside Broadway cabaret at its own center. Tribute nights recur through the calendar, among them programs built on the Beatles, Michael Jackson, and a Queen versus ABBA pairing. Kurtz has built the organization around accessible programming rather than a single repertoire lane.

The spread is what separates the Gulf Coast Symphony from most companies its size: a 300-seat room for cabaret and chamber nights, a 1,850-seat hall for the pops concerts, and a musicals series that stages full productions like Ring of Fire and Ghost the Musical. Few community orchestras attempt that much range in a single season, and fewer still put it all within a short drive of one another. Explore Gulf Coast Symphony concert dates at Event Tickets Center.
