Bye Bye Birdie
Bye Bye Birdie is a musical satire based on social relations in America in the late 1950’s. The original Broadway production in the early 1960’s won a Tony Award, and was originally inspired by the events surrounding Elvis Presley’s induction into the U.S. Army. The production eventually was adapted to film and became a popular reproduction on high school and college campuses. The musical made its debut in theatres beyond Broadway and the West End in 1990 and has been a touring production ever since.
