Update 5/24/2019: Adam Levine has announced he will be leaving The Voice after 16 seasons as one of the show’s beloved judges.
Levine was one of the original coaches who launched the NBC reality competition series when it premiered eight years ago in April 2011. He has won three times over his 16 seasons in the shows iconic red chairs; first in season 1 with Javier Colon, and then again in Season 5 (Tessanne Chin) and Season 9 (Jordan Smith).
There’s no question fans will miss his hilarious frenemy relationship with fellow judge and country star Blake Shelton. Shelton won’t miss him too much, though, as his girlfriend Gwen Stefani will be stepping in to take his place.
“He’ll always be a cherished member of The Voice family,” host Carson Daly shared, praising the Maroon 5 frontman for “inspiring many of the artists who he worked so closely with over the years” and helping launch The Voice. “Of course, we wish him nothing but the best.”
The Grammy-winning rockers will be the first to grace the stage at the all-new Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL opening in late October. The all-new entertainment space is just one part of a massive $2.2 billion expansion taking over two Florida Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos (the other located in Tampa).
Folks in Hollywood may have noticed a difference in their beachside skyline recently, thanks to the addition of Hard Rock’s brand-new Guitar Hotel. The guitar-shaped tower is the first in the world of its kind and will hold 638 of the hotel’s 1,274 guestrooms once completed.
Maroon 5 is set to hit the stage October 25, one day after the resort’s grand opening on October 24.
Who is Maroon 5?
Grammy-winning pop/rock outfit Maroon 5 came together in 1994, originally under the name Kara’s Flowers. After struggling to make their mainstream breakthrough, the group remerged as Maroon 5 in 2001, pursuing a different musical direction and issuing their full-length debut Songs About Jane one year later. The album became an instant hit on the strength of its lead single “Harder to Breathe,” receiving heavy airplay and peaking at number six on the Billboard 200 chart, eventually going platinum in 2004. In 2005, they took home the Grammy Award for Best New Artist, setting the tone for what would be a long and successful career. Maroon 5 have since released five additional studio albums, maintaining their presence at the top of the charts and receiving heavy radio play with each release. The group has sold more than 109 million singles and 27 million albums to date, making them one of the best-selling music artists in the world.
