Beetlejuice tells the story of Barbara and Adam Maitland, a recently deceased couple attempting to navigate turbulent waters in the world of the afterlife when they discover their home has been taken over by an obnoxious family. Desperate to take back what’s theirs, they enlist the help of a sleazy spirit named Beetlejuice, who makes a living out of scaring the living. This new musical is based on the classic 1988 Tim Burton film which starred Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis. Beetlejuice won the Academy Award for Best Makeup and three Saturn Awards for best Horror Film, Best Makeup and Best Support Actress (Sylvia Sydney). It has come to be known as a classic and is one of the most popular films to emerge from the 20th century.
