The Appalachian Fair is a fun, family-friendly event held in Johnson City, Tennessee. Dating back to 1962, it has grown over the years and is now one of the largest events of its kind in the state. Volunteers contribute their time and energy to make the 10-day event a success. Over 100 vendors and 150+ shows provide something for everyone to enjoy, regardless of age or interests.

The Appalachian Fair is the second-largest event of its kind in the state of Tennessee and has been a cherished tradition in the Tri-Cities for 97+ years. Come and experience the sights, sounds, and smells of a real old-time country fair at our next event to be held August 21-26, 2023 here at the Appalachian Fairgrounds in the Gray community. Featuring pageants, talent shows, contests, livestock showings, agricultural exhibits, carnival games, and more than 30 fantastic rides, it’s every year an “affair” to remember!
