Aussie alt-rocker Alex Lahey picked up the guitar when she was just 13 years old, discovering her passion for music instantly. Following her graduation from university, Lahey pursed a solo music career, releasing her debut EP B-Grade University in 2016. The album captured the attention of indie rock duo Tegan and Sara, who invited Lahey out on tour with them. The tour gave Lahey added exposure, vastly growing her fanbase. Her independently-released debut album, Love You Like a Brother, hit shelves in October 2017, hitting the number 15 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart as well as earning the rising star her first ARIA nomination for Breakthrough Artist – Release. Lahey cites a wide range of genres and artists as having an influence on her style and sound, including acts like The Killers, Paramor, Dolly Parton, and Bruce Springsteen.
