Held in Nampa, Idaho, the Snake River Stampede Rodeo is one of the top ten professional rodeos acknowledged by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. The six-performance event is held for five days every year during the third week of July. With a prize of $400,000, the rodeo has evolved from a small, local bucking horse competition in the early 1900s to a major professional sports event in 1937. It features bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, team roping and ladies’ barrel racing, plus mutton busting for kids and the famous Snake River Stampeders Night Light Drill Team.
