RuPaul’s Drag Race is a reality television competition series hosted by American drag queen, actor, writer, and producer RuPaul. It is the first reality show in the history of television to feature drag queens, following RuPaul on his search to find “America’s next drag superstar.” The show, which made its initial debut in 2009, airs internationally and features a panel of judges (led by RuPaul) that critiques contestants on different challenges each week. RuPaul’s Drag Race has spanned a total of 10 seasons on the air, and inspired spin-off shows RuPaul’s Drag U and RuPaul’s Drag Race: All Stars. The show has been nominated for a total of 23 Emmy Awards, winning four, and nine Reality Television Awards, winning three. In 2010, It was awarded as an Outstanding Reality Program at the 21st GLAAD Media Awards. In June 2018 it was announced that RuPaul’s Drag Race had been renewed for its eleventh season on VH1.
