The Civic Center Theater has been a beloved part of the Mobile cultural scene for decades, hosting concerts, theater productions, recitals and more. The structure opened as the Mobile Municipal Auditorium on July 9, 1964. It was built with the city's longtime Mardi Gras celebrations in mind. The concourse area is often used for balls during Mardi Gras. It celebrated its opening with a "Holiday on Ice" ice skating show. The Civic Center is a great destination for any kind of event, with its 1,938 seat theater, 3,000 seat expo hall, and 10,112 seat arena all within the same complex!
