Dignity Health Sports Park - Carson, CA

Located 10 miles south of downtown Los Angeles, the Dignity Health Sports Park is the second-largest soccer stadium in the U.S. It’s home to the MLS’s Los Angeles Galaxy, and it’s also the temporary home of the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers until their new stadium opens in 2020. Besides MLS and NFL games, several other sporting events take place within the stadium, such as boxing, rugby, NCAA soccer, college football and MMA. Skate competitions have also occurred at the venue, along with music festivals like the Vans Warped Tour.

The venue provides lots of onsite parking, but it’s been known to fill up quickly. Fans should arrive early to get a spot or access the venue via SoCal Transport and the Galaxy Express, a free shuttle to and from the stadium on game days. While there aren’t many hotels within walking distance of the stadium, a huge range can be found throughout the Los Angeles area. Tailgating is allowed before Galaxy games, and several different bars and restaurants can be found along South Avalon Boulevard, which borders the stadium.

Situated on the California State University campus close to several major freeways, the center is a car ride away from many of Southern California’s top attractions. Long Beach is 10 miles to the south, with popular sites including the Aquarium of the Pacific and The Queen Mary, a historic ocean liner that’s been converted into a hotel. A handful of other hotels are within three miles of the Dignity Health Sports Park, for those who prefer to stay closer to the venue.
