The Bill Battle Coliseum is an impressive event venue on the campus of Birmingham Southern College in Alabama. Constructed in 1965, it is named after A.B. “Bill” Battle Jr., who served as the university’s athletic director from 1960-1967. It has a seating capacity of 8,500 with two large balconies to house close to 6,000 people each. Birmingham is an exciting place to visit, with plenty to do. Downtown is home to shops and cafes, while Linn Park offers a peaceful atmosphere with the Civil War Memorial. There are also opportunities for watersports along the Black Warrior River at Regions Field. In addition, there are several attractions and sports teams to cheer on at Legion Field and Oak Mountain State Park. There are live music venues like Five Points South Music Hall and Red Mountain Theater, as well as museums highlighting history, art, and science.
