Indie/folk duo Penny & Sparrow formed in 2011 by roommates Andy Baxter and Kyle Jahnke. Inspired by the likes of Bon Iver, the Swell Season, and Mumford & Sons, the two got to work creating simple, acoustic arrangements, singing together and recording it all on a laptop. Their debut album Tenbloom would arrive in 2013, followed by Struggle Party later that same the latter of which featured a sound that incorporated orchestral layers, expanding their scale and landing the two a record deal. They have since released two additional studio albums, Let a Lover Drown You (2016), and Wendigo (2017).
