How To Find Great Tickets, Fast

Finding tickets.

Looking for a fun night out? Trying to plan an upcoming vacation? We’re often asked to share our secrets for finding tickets that we’ve learned through more than a decade of connecting fans with events they love. So in this article, we’ll share our tips on how to search for tickets and all the ways we’ve built them right into Event Tickets Center and our mobile apps.

Our tips focus on getting the most out of the search bar located in the upper right corner of EventTicketsCenter.com. No matter where you go in the site or how many pages you click through, the search bar will always be there. It’s like your most dependable friend, at least when it comes to finding great tickets.

Prefer to use your phone or tablet? The search bar is always just a tap away. In the upper right corner you’ll find the magnifying glass icon – the universal symbol for “tap here to search for great tickets!”

How to search by sports league and team

We’ll start with the basics. You can search Event Tickets Center for any league, series, tour and circuit. Just type what you’re looking for into the search box to find complete listings for every event we have in that category. If you know the day you’re hoping to see them play, add that to your search.

Bonus tip: In the above images you’ll notice the auto-suggest feature in our search box. This is a great way to narrow down exactly what you’re looking for and find tickets quickly.

If you’re looking for a specific team, you can search all their games – home and away – from the search box.

If your team is still in the mix when the post season rolls around, or if you want to take a vacation to see a great matchup, you can search by “playoffs” “finals” and “semi-finals” to find the series you want to see.

Don’t forget: You can search the same way on mobile:

How to search by musical genre, artist and band

Just like you can search by league and team, Event Tickets Center lets you search for concert tickets by genre, artist and band. Just type in what you’re looking for and hit search or click one of the auto-suggest options.

Bonus tip: You can add a date or a city or a state to find the concert you’re looking for.

This is a great way for music lovers to search for a place to see their favorite band perform on vacation.

How to search by city

Let’s say you want to take in an event while you’re traveling in a new city, or you just want to see what’s up in the place you live. Searching for tickets is easy, you can type any city into the search box and find every listing. Sports, music, theatre – all of them.

The auto-suggest search options are especially helpful here. They can help focus your search if you aren’t sure exactly what to look for. Don’t forget to add a date or day of the week to get more specific.

On your phone? No problem!

Bonus tip: You can also be more specific by searching within a zip code. So if you wanted to see what’s up in downtown Los Angeles, search 90017. It will filter out events at Dodger Stadium and the Coliseum so you can see just what’s happening within downtown.

How to search by stadium, venue and theater

Wrigley Field. Red Rocks. Radio City Music Hall. America is full of iconic venues that people want to visit regardless of what’s playing. Event Tickets Center makes searching by venue name easy, just type it into the search bar and get the listing for every upcoming event.

Like everything else, you can add the date when you’ll be in town for exactly what is playing at your favorite venues on the days when you can get tickets.

Bonus tip: Search for venue category “amphitheatre” to find every outdoor music listing and plan an awesome summer music road trip.

Searching by date and day

Picture this: It’s Wednesday and you just landed a date for Saturday. Nice! But how do you know what’s happening around town? Event Tickets Center makes it easy. Just search by the date or day of the week, plus your city.

Congratulations, you just planned a date!

Bonus tip: Type in “New Year’s Eve” and find a great way to kick off the new year.

Finding family events

What about great events that aren’t part of a sports league or a musical tour? Great news: You can search for those, too! Literally any event that’s listed on our site is accessible through the search box. So if you’re hoping to see Monster Jam or Sesame Street Live you can find it through a quick search.
