FivePoint Amphitheater replaces Irving Meadows.
FivePoint Amphitheatre will host its first show Saturday, Aug. 26 as it replaces the legendary Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre, which was demolished after the 2016 concert season. Tickets to see Young the Giant for the opening show will go on sale May 5. Organizers say more concert announcements are coming for later in 2017.

About FivePoint Amphitheatre

Located near Orange County Great Park in southeast Irvine, FivePoint Amphitheater will hold 12,000 fans. The temporary structure will stand for at least three years at the end of the runways leftover from when the space was a Marine Corps Air Station. For the long term, Irvine is looking to build a permanent replacement for the Irvine Meadows Amphitheater at the park. The temporary FivePoint facility was approved after a strong show of support for keeping Irvine’s tradition of outdoor music alive.

Parking At FivePoint Amphitheatre

Orange County Great Park is located at 6950 Marine Way in Irvine. The city says it will have 4,000 parking spaces for fans who want to drive to the concert. Fans taking the train can get off at the Irvine Station located at 15215 Barranca Parkway.

About Young the Giant

Young the Giant is the perfect choice to christen FivePoint: The band got its start as “The Jakes” in Irvine back in 2004. They became Young the Giant in 2010. They’ve had several top hits on the Billboard alternative chart, including “It’s About Time” which peaked at number two and “Cough Syrup” which reached number three in 2011. Their first album as Young the Giant, which was also called Young the Giant, topped out at number two on the Billboard Heatseekers chart.
