Few teams in the WHL carry a longer road story than this one, a franchise that began as the Edmonton Ice in 1996 before stops in Cranbrook and Winnipeg led to Wenatchee in 2023. WHL Western

The Wild play in the U.S. Division of the WHL's Western Conference, the newest club in a group built around the Pacific Northwest's American teams. Their sharpest rivalry so far has come against the Kelowna Rockets, the only opponent to have eliminated Wenatchee from the playoffs since the franchise arrived from Winnipeg. Jarret Stoll, part of the Kootenay Ice's 2002 Memorial Cup championship team under this same franchise, went on to a long NHL career and two Stanley Cups with the Los Angeles Kings. Wenatchee finished 25-38-3-2 for 55 points in 2025-26, missing the playoffs, and the club will look to rebuild toward the U.S. Division's top tier.

Wenatchee Wild at Town Toyota Center

Every Wild home game is played at a rink built specifically for the community back in 2008, replacing decades of makeshift hockey venues around North Central Washington. Town Toyota Center seats about 4,300 for hockey, a snug enough building that even a modest crowd can make itself heard. The Wenatchee era has been shorter, with one playoff trip in 2024, a loss in six games to the Kelowna Rockets.
