The Historic Texas Theatre in Dallas, Texas is a great venue for cultural events and performances. With over 14,000 Texas high school students participating in the One-Act Play Contest each year, this theater has hosted some of the most memorable productions around. It is also a landmark of film history and culture, having been built in 1931 and included on the United States’ prestigious National Register of Historic Places list in 1982.

The Historic Texas Theatre was opened in 1931 by eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes as a Robb Rowley Theater and became infamous in 1963 as the place Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested. In 2011 it was reopened by Aviation Cinemas formed by Barak Epstein, Adam Donaghey, Eric Steele, and Jason Reimer. It is open 7 days a week playing new releases.
