Rice-Eccles Stadium - Salt Lake City, UT

Rice-Eccles Stadium is located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and serves as the home field for the University of Utah Utes football team. This venue became quite popular in 2002 when it held the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2002 Winter Olympics. As you can imagine, this is a thrill that most stadiums never get to enjoy.

Rice-Eccles Stadium opened in 1927. From 1927 to 1972, the venue was known as Ute Stadium. Then from 1972 to 1998 it was known simply as Rice Stadium. Finally, Rice-Eccles Stadium became the name, and it appears that this is not going to change anytime in the near future.

The seating capacity at Rice-Eccles Stadium is 45,634. This is plenty big enough to give the Utes a huge home field advantage. And with modern updates, Rice-Eccles Stadium has a lot to offer fans.

All in all, Rice-Eccles Stadium has a rich history, but has also been updated many times over the years. For this reason, it is one of the best in the Mountain West Conference.
