The Stars energized Nebraska's capital with the best expansion season in league history and a Clark Cup in their debut season, and they have kept producing NHL and college talent since. USHL Western

The USHL standings tell the story of a brutal Western Conference, where Lincoln battles a cluster of NHL-prospect-laden rivals. Chief among them is the I-80 rivalry with the Omaha Lancers, one of junior hockey's most heated, along with the Waterloo Black Hawks, Sioux Falls Stampede, Sioux City Musketeers, and Tri-City Storm. Lincoln reached the postseason again in 2025-26, led by USHL scoring leader Alex Pelletier. Every conference game doubles as an audition for college and pro scouts.

Lincoln Stars at Ice Box

The Stars play at the Ice Box, a roughly 4,600-seat arena on the former state fairgrounds next to the University of Nebraska. Built in 1951 as a livestock arena, it was converted into Lincoln's first and only indoor ice rink when the expansion Stars arrived in 1996, immediately becoming one of the hottest draws in town and selling out every game that debut season. The intimate setting keeps fans close to fast, physical junior hockey. That energy has long given the Stars one of the strongest home-ice edges in the Western Conference, where visiting teams rarely get comfortable.

Running 62 regular-season games, the Lincoln Stars hockey schedule splits between home and road dates across the fall, winter, and early spring.
