Jazz singer/songwriter Kurt Elling stepped into the spotligtht in the mid-1990s. He began his career performing around Chicago, scat singing and improvising lyrics before recording a demo and eventually being signed. To date, Elling has released 13 full-length albums. He has been nominated for a total of 10 Grammy Awards, winning one for Best Vocal Jazz Album for Dedicated to You in 2009.
