Johnnyswim is a folk, soul and blues band based out of Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2005. The group is comprised of husband and wife Amanda Sudano and Abner Ramirez; Sudano is the daughter of Donna Summer, with whom she toured as a young lady as a backup singer, and Ramirez was professionally trained at the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. The two met at a songwriting workshop led by Ramirez and began to collaborate shortly afterwards. Both are contributors to the singing and songwriting of Johnnyswim, as they perform their own material as well as their versions of other’s.
