Johnny Marr is an English musician, singer and songwriter best known as one of the founding members of English rock band, The Smiths. Marr formed his first band at the age of 13 and has continued to play music ever since. Forming The Smiths with Morrisey in 1982, his jangle pop guitar style became a distinct part of the band’s sound, and they attained major success until disbanding in 1987. In the years since, Marr has gone on to become a member of bands such as The Pretenders and Modest Mouse, and done sessions with well-known artists such as the Talking Heads and Hans Zimmer. He released two solo albums in 2013 and 2014 and is set to release a third entitled Call the Comet in June 2018.
