Guns N Roses was formed in Los Angeles, California in 1985. They toured the west coast in what the Guns N Roses dubbed the 'Hell Tour' with overwhelming success, leading to a record deal with Geffen Records. In 1987, Guns N Roses released their first major label album Appetite for Destruction. This album would go down in history as one of the most successful and impacting albums of all time. The first single "Welcome to the Jungle" was released in the United States became popular, due in part to the fact that the music video was regularly featured on MTV. Surprisingly enough, the video aired at abnormal hours, which catered to fans of heavy metal. Appetite for Destruction also featured the hit singles "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Paradise City." All three of the songs topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts and helped make Appetite for Destruction one of the best-selling albums of all time. The success of the album lead to a North America Guns N Roses tour, which featured other high profile acts such as Iron Maiden and Aerosmith at multiple Guns N Roses concerts.

As the years went on, the band members were plagued with many problems. Most notably, lead guitarist Slash and front man Axl Rose got into many arguments, which eventually led to Slash leaving the band. Guns N Roses tickets are a hot commodity and extremely popular.

On one of their breakout tours as the opening act for Aerosmith, Guns N Roses was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Rolling Stone had planned to do a story on Aerosmith, but Guns N Roses stole the spotlight!
