Fisher Theatre - Detroit, MI
The venue is one of the city's oldest live theatres. Up until 1961, the Fisher Theatre was not used much for live shows. Instead, it was more or less for movies. The seating capacity at the Fisher Theatre is 2,089. This may be smaller than when it first opened, but this was to make more room for the patrons while in their seats.
For the most part, traveling Broadway productions keep the Fisher Theatre busy throughout the year. The Nederlander Organization owns and operates the venue, and does a great job attracting Broadway shows.
All in all, the Fisher Theatre is a huge part of the history of Detroit!
