Felipe Esparza attained mainstream success as the winner of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” in 2010. Prior to his television debut, Esparza began his comedic career in 1994 following a rough upbringing and drug addiction. Starting out, he would make jokes that, unlike most comedians, had nothing to do with himself. It wasn’t until ten years into his career that he decided to bring his rough past and culture as a Mexican American into his routine, which has since become the cornerstone of his performances.
