Choosing Your Seats at Radio City Music Hall
Whether you want to be close enough to catch the confetti snowflakes or far enough to see the troupe’s detailed formations from above, there’s a perfect seat for you at Radio City Music Hall. Here are the most important considerations when booking your seats.
Orchestra vs Mezzanine
Radio City Music Hall features a broad Orchestra section where guests can see the show at eye level. The Orchestra section offers accessible seats, easy access to the lobby and concessions, and an immersive close-up atmosphere. You’ll also be right in the action as the Rockettes dance through the aisles during certain numbers.
The following clip shows a view from the middle of the Orchestra section.
Mezzanines 1, 2, and 3 overlook the stage at Radio City Music Hall. While farther from the stage, many attendees prefer the bird's-eye mezzanine seating for its easier viewing of the expansive production. Certain dance formations like those in Parade of the Wooden Soldiers become clearer from above.
Center vs Edge Seating
Sitting closer to the center of the stage gives the most balanced picture of the Rockettes’ Christmas production. However, the show is enchanting from any angle, and side-view tickets often cost less than center-view tickets.
Some tickets in the very front of Orchestra sections 1, 2, 5, and 6 are marked Limited or Obstructed View, since they view performers mostly from the side. These tickets usually feature discounts compared to other Orchestra seats while still offering up-close views of the dancers and the set. An Obstructed View will always be noted clearly on these tickets during checkout.
Before the Show: Arrival Logistics
Planning your arrival is half the battle of any live experience. Knowing the perfect time to arrive, what you can bring, and how to get to the venue saves you from last-minute rushing or missing any of the performance.
Transportation
Radio City Music Hall is located in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, where public transportation is your best friend. Take the subway to the 50th St./Broadway station, just two short blocks from the venue, for an easy arrival. Guests who prefer direct drop-off can use rideshare services or taxis. Parking is also available near the venue, and it should be reserved in advance for the easiest arrival experience.
Radio City Bag Policy
Bags smaller than 22” by 14” by 19” are permitted and subject to search. They do not need to be clear but must fit under your seat. Radio City Music Hall does not offer a place to check oversized bags, coats, or other personal belongings, except for strollers, so the venue advises attendees to pack light.
When to Arrive
Arrive at the venue an hour before showtime, when doors open, for the smoothest entry experience. This allows time to park if needed, get through security, and explore the venue before the show. After you find your seats, you can admire the Art Deco architecture, purchase snacks and drinks, and take photos while you wait for the show to begin.
Late Arrival Policy
If you arrive 30 minutes or less before showtime, you may miss the beginning of the show. Late arrivals are ushered in during show transitions and won’t be allowed entry during certain scenes, like Dance of the Frost Fairies and Here Comes Santa Claus. Arrive promptly to ensure the best experience for everyone.
During the Show: What to Expect
After you’ve claimed your spot in Radio City for the signature performance, here’s what you can expect from the show.
New Show Features & Technology
The 2025 season debuted Sphere Immersive Sound technology, allowing guests to feel even more a part of the production. Other innovations, including digital projections, fairy drones, and holograms, work together to keep the production fresh. The 2026 season will also add a tenth scene to the show for the first time.
Yearly Traditions
Each year, certain honored show traditions make the Radio City Christmas Spectacular the beloved show that it is. Expect the dancers to perform their awe-inducing synchronized kickline. The Living Nativity breathes life into the classic religious story, and The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers blends comedic storytelling with iconic choreography.
No Recording Allowed
Recording or taking photos on a smartphone or digital camera is strictly prohibited at the show. Phones are allowed, but guests should keep them off and away during the performance. Leave your phone in your pocket and take in the show unplugged.
Cashless Venue
Radio City Music Hall is a cashless venue, meaning guests should prepare to pay for concessions and merchandise with debit/credit cards or mobile payments like Apple Pay. A reverse ATM inside the venue can also convert cash to debit cards for guests’ convenience.
Show Duration
The Radio City Christmas Spectacular lasts for 90 minutes and does not feature an intermission. The fast-paced show packs ten scenes for the first time in 2026. The never-before-seen tenth scene will debut during the 2026 opening show on November 4.
