Where is Lollapalooza Held
Lollapalooza is held in Chicago each year in Grant Park. The venue houses seven to nine stages each year, spread throughout the mile-long grounds. In 2025, the venue featured over 60 food stands and over 25 dessert and snack stands.
Grant Park is located in downtown Chicago, directly next to Lake Michigan on one side and The Bean on the other side. Lollapalooza visitors can enjoy strolling along the Lakefront Trail and visiting the iconic Magnificent Mile while in town.
When is Lollapalooza 2026?
Lolla starts on Thursday, July 30th and runs through Sunday, August 2nd. The schedule of performances and events will be released soon. The festival entrances are open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. Wait times to get into the festival aren’t usually longer than 20 minutes, but if you really want to avoid entry lines, plan to arrive in the morning.

Lollapalooza Tickets
There are several different types of tickets available for Lollapalooza. The ticket type you purchase will determine which areas of the grounds you have access to, how easy it is to get great concert views, and how much time you’ll spend waiting in lines.
General Admission
GA tickets are what most festival-goers purchase. This is the classic festival experience: arriving early for a spot at the barrier for your favorite artist, sometimes waiting in lines, and saving money on tickets.
GA has access to all stages and artists as well as the vast majority of food, cocktail, and merch stands. Some attendees have said the biggest perk of upgrading from GA is the bathrooms.
General Admission Plus
GA+ features access to a separate entrance to skip any GA entrance lines, cleaner bathrooms with fewer lines, and two air-conditioned lounge areas. The lounges offer shade, seating, and private bars. Since this tier doesn’t include better views of the main stages, some festival-goers find VIP more worth the upgrade.
VIP
VIP ticket perks include a separate entrance to skip the GA entrance lines, air-conditioned trailers, better bathroom facilities, and access to golf carts for festival transportation. There are also VIP sections next to both main stages, which give guests more space, better views of the stages, and more shade.
Platinum
Platinum is the highest tier of Lollapalooza tickets. These tickets unlock access to two separate entrances and all areas of the grounds, including GA+ and VIP lounges. Platinum guests also have access to up-front viewing at most stages, including the two main stages. These guests also get golf cart transportation, complimentary food and drink, lockers, and more amenities.
