The Tennessee Theatre, located in Knoxville, Tennessee, is a movie palace that resembles the style of a 1920’s theater. For most, the Tennessee Theatre is unlike anything they have ever seen.
The Tennessee Theatre opened its doors in October of 1928. For more than 75 years the venue has been selling tickets at a high rate. Although the building has changed many times over the years, it has kept its historic value. In fact, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.
In the past, the Tennessee Theatre was only used for movies. Now, it is also a performing arts venue. Shows have included: Hairspray, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar, Movin’ Out, Lord of the Dance, and Beauty and the Beast among many others.
Despite changes, one thing has remained the same: Tennessee Theatre tickets are hot!
