Meek Mill had established himself as a prominent artist on the streets of Philadelphia before breaking through in 2011, making his mainstream debut on the Maybach Music Group compilation Self-Made, Vol. 1. He made his solo debut with the release of Dreams and Nightmares in 2012, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 and reached the top of the charts again three years later with Dreams Worth More Than Money in 2015. Wins and Losses followed in 2017, marking his final release before entering prison until April 2018. He dropped his fourth LP, Championships just a few months after his release, immediately returning to the top of the charts.
