The line back to 1927 runs through a bankruptcy, as that's the year Edwin Dietrich founded the Colorado Springs Symphony. Then, the organization folded in March 2003, and the Philharmonic formed in its place within months. The 2026-27 run is the hundredth season counted from that original ensemble. Chloé Dufresne is the current music director, the first woman to hold that post, and this is her second season with the orchestra. Colorado Springs Philharmonic Tour Dates

The Colorado Springs Philharmonic schedule sits almost entirely inside Pikes Peak Center, the two-thousand-seat hall built downtown in 1982 as part of the city's revitalization plan. The Nutcracker run fills the end of November 2026, and Christmas Symphony follows over two days in December. Joshua Bell guests on February 5, 2027, and Beethoven Ninth plays April 17 and 18, 2027, with the season continuing into May 2027. A handful of the orchestra's other dates land away from that hall. The centennial season itself opened in late September 2026, ahead of the listed run.

Three of the four programs named here run more than once, which is how a regional orchestra covers a centennial year without thinning the calendar. Christmas Symphony pairs a matinee and an evening on its first day and adds a matinee on its second. Bell's night is a single performance and the only one built around a soloist of that profile. The Ninth brings in more than 200 choral singers, the biggest force on stage across these dates. Holiday performances run at 2 and 7 p.m.

A hundredth season is a pretty good time to find out what a city orchestra sounds like. This one comes with a new music director still shaping the ensemble, a violinist most people know by name, and a closing program that puts more people on stage than anything else all year. The holiday run is the easy entry point, and it repeats often enough to fit around most schedules. Secure Colorado Springs Philharmonic seats at Event Tickets Center.
