New Jersey-based rock group Pinegrove emerged in 2010, blending together emo rock with indie elements and folk/Americana influences. The group gained a steady following through the release of several independent releases before being signed, dropping their breakthrough second album Cardinal in 2016. The band entered a hiatus shortly after the album's release, delaying the release of their third album Skylight which would arrive in 2018. Pinegrove's fourth album, Marigold, was released in 2019.
