Matt and Kim are an indie pop duo from Brooklyn, New York known for their upbeat dance music and energetic live shows. Formed in 2004, the pair's breakout came with the popularity of the music video for their song "Yea Yeah," which depicted the artists being hit with food from a refrigerator. In 2007, they played at Lollapalooza and released their second album, Grand, the following year. The sophomore album proved that the duo was here to stay. The lead single "Daylight" became certified gold and was featured in several commercials. Matt and Kim answered their success with a music video for the song "Lessons Learned," which won the Breakthrough Video Award at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.
