Why You Need to See Once On This Island Live
Based on the 1985 novel My Love, My Love, the musical Once On This Island opened in 1994 and won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. It is set in the French Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean Sea and features story elements of Romeo and Juliet and The Little Mermaid. The musical follows a peasant girl on a tropical island, who wields the power of love to bring people of different social classes together. The performance has recently been brought back to the Broadway stage, so don’t sleep on snagging tickets to this classic!
