Meet The Cat Empire
Australia based Cat Empire was formed in 1999, initially as a trio. Founding members keyboardist Oliver McGill, double bassist Ryan Monro, and percussionist Felix Riebl were later joined by trumpet player Harry James Angus, drummer Will Hull-Brown, and DJ Jamshid Khadiwala to form the lineup as we know it today. The group released their self-titled debut album in 2003, which eventually earned a triple platinum rating in Australia. With high energy and a fun-loving sound, Cat Empire has maintained a steady presence atop the ARIA charts throughout the years. Their constant touring and one-of-a-kind performances have made them a major festival and club attraction with a unique sound that blends jazz, funk, ska, and alternative.
