Spiritualized was formed by singer/guitarist Jason Pierce from the remnants of his prior band Spacemen 3. Combining his prior band’s trademark hypnotic, minimalistic beats with uplifting, atmospheric tunes, he created a unique sound that reached a peak with the group’s 1997 classic Ladies and Gentlemen We Are Floating in Space, and again with their 2001 international success Let It Come Down. Spiritualized has released a total of eight studio albums since their formation over 25 years ago. The lineup has continued to change over the years, with Peirce, who writes, composes, and sings all of the group’s material, being the only constant member.
