Meet Gloria Steinem
Gloria Steinem is a journalist and social political activist who first rose to prominence as a nationally recognized leader in the American feminist movement of the late '60s and early '70s. Steinem travels the globe as an organizer and lecturer, and is a frequent media spokeswoman on issues of equality. She is particularly focused on the shared origins of sex and race caste systems, gender roles and child abuse as roots of violence, non-violent conflict resolution, cultures of indigenous peoples, and organizing across boundaries for peace and justice.
