Amy Grant is a contemporary Christian music singer-songwriter, born in Augusta, Georgia in 1960. She began her official musical career in Nashville in the late 70’s, although she was offered a recording contract just shy of her sixteenth birthday. The release of her first album came one month before she graduated from high-school, and her first ticketed concert was held during her freshman year at Furman University. The multiple Grammy award winning artist was among the first contemporary Christian music artist to make the transition into mainstream pop. Grant received a Hollywood Walk of Fame star in 2005.
